New projects: making them profitable

With these “new” responsibilities, pharmacists are strengthening their role as primary care providers, even amid a challenging economic climate marked by shrinking margins and rising costs. These contractually mandated services (vaccinations, rapid HIV testing, colorectal cancer screening, short and long consultations, preventive health checkups, etc.) can serve as a concrete means of ensuring financial stability and gaining recognition.

Profitability depends on the right tools and a clear internal structure. The true economic value is often “hidden”: the ripple effect from one service to the next, cross-selling, upselling, and related consulting. Ultimately, these services strengthen customer loyalty and the pharmacy’s “clinical” image: each service becomes a gateway to a comprehensive, sustainable, and profitable customer journey.
