At the pharmacy: eco-friendly & environmentally conscious

March 14, 2026
Professional Forum
The Professional Forum's Policy Agenda Management, HR, and Performance

The environmental impact of community pharmacy activity is far from being a mere theoretical concern. From design to recycling, including production, packaging, transport and dispensing conditions, every stage in the lifecycle of medicines represents a new environmental challenge for the pharmaceutical supply chain.
To address this, various practical solutions are being considered, such as selecting eco-friendly packaging, reducing delivery frequency, or even dispensing medicines in unit doses. During this roundtable, we will explore the relevance of these approaches and raise a key question: to what extent can these measures be implemented without compromising the economic performance of the pharmacy?
