Due to budgetary constraints, in 2026, pharmaceuticals remain one of the main levers for balancing the social accounts. The continued decline in prices can only further weaken the pharmacy sector. The question now is how the system will be able to absorb this price pressure and the decline in sales volumes. This question fuels the idea of an overhaul of the economic model, which is no longer optional but urgent. It remains to be seen what form this shift will take (an early agreement, a new structural amendment), and we must not confuse speed with haste.
