Sustainability in pharmacies: a viable business model
In a rapidly changing industry, community pharmacies find themselves at a crossroads: new regulations, financial pressure, the rise of AI, heightened societal expectations…
Faced with these upheavals, pharmacists can choose to simply endure them, or to reclaim leadership over their business model and their key role in the patient care journey.
This conference proposes rethinking sustainability in the pharmacy: not as a superficial discussion of LED lighting on the sales floor, but as a comprehensive strategy—economic, social, environmental, and organizational—that propels pharmacies into the future. What if, rather than chasing the race to the bottom on prices, pharmacies focused on creating qualitative value, their uniqueness, and their ability to anticipate and meet the real expectations of patients, staff, and their stakeholders?
Because pharmacists perform not one but three roles—healthcare professional, manager, and leader—this conference will provide insights on how to balance these roles, secure business operations, identify growth opportunities, and build a visionary strategy that serves both patients and the local community.
A key event to envision the pharmacy of tomorrow: innovative, responsible, high-performing… and resolutely sustainable.
- An introduction to systems thinking, new economic and governance models, corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability in pharmacy practice, the importance of collaborating with stakeholders, and analyzing data.
